Lusik Aguletsi
Lusik Aguletsi (1946–2018) was an Armenian artist, ethnographer and collector, born Lusik Harutyunyan, daughter of Zhorzhik. She was born in the village of Verin Agulis (Yukhari Aylis) in Nakhijevan (Nakhchivan), and in 1953 her family moved to Yerevan. In 1963–1967 she studied at the Panos Terlemezyan Art College in Yerevan, and from 1974 she was a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia. She was awarded the title of Honoured Worker of Culture of Armenia and the Movses Khorenatsi Order.
Throughout her life she collected old household objects: costumes, jewellery, weapons, pottery and carpets. In Soviet Yerevan she always wore the Armenian taraz. After her death her house became a house-museum.
In the photograph she sits in a rocking chair, in an embroidered costume and headdress, with paintings on the wall behind her.
