Monument to the Zeitun resistance of 1895–1896, Aleppo

Monument to the Zeitun resistance of 1895–1896 at the Church of Saint Gevorg in Aleppo, Syria.

The monument is made of reddish stone. At the top a tree is carved, on the left a hand holding a cross, in the middle six faces, and below a round shield with inscriptions bearing the word ‘Zeitun’ in large letters. A sword passes behind the shield. The year 1895 is carved at the upper left and 1862 at the upper right, each with an inscription.
