Princes Aimone and Filiberto of the House of Savoy
According to the source, the right to the Armenian crown did not disappear after the death of Levon VI Lusignan, the last king of Cilician Armenia (the Armenian Kingdom). After the fall of Cilicia, through dynastic marriages, the Lusignan royal house, which had ruled in Cilician Armenia and Cyprus, merged with the House of Savoy, which ruled in Italy. Anne of Lusignan, daughter of the Armenian-Cypriot King Janus, married King Louis I of Savoy, and they had 7 children. In addition, Duke Charles III of Savoy gave his daughter Maria in marriage to Guido, son of Levon VI.
The House of Savoy was founded in 1003 and held the title of King of Italy until 1947, when the monarchy in Italy was abolished. Its titles also include King of Cyprus and King of Armenia. The current head of the house is Prince Aimone, ambassador of the Order of Malta to Russia since 2019.
