Marble relief symbolizing Armenia
A marble relief symbolizing Armenia, which decorated the Temple of Hadrian in Rome. This temple of the deified Emperor Hadrian, on the Campus Martius, was built by his adopted son and successor Antoninus Pius in 145 AD. The temple showed the Roman provinces, Armenia among them.
The woman is shown in a tall cap, a belted short tunic, a cloak and trousers, holding objects in her hands. The sculpture is now kept in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
