Silver Mitre from Musa Ler, 1611

Mitre, 1611, Cilician Armenia, Musa Ler. It is made of silver, gilded and decorated with turquoise and gemstones.

The domed upper part bears winged angels and seated figures in relief, and the lower part shows standing saints holding books, framed by pointed arches. A row of blue stones runs along the lower edge. In the photograph the mitre is displayed on a white stand.
