The Wings of Tatev cable car
The Wings of Tatev is the world’s longest reversible cable car and is listed in the Guinness World Records. It is 5,752 metres long. The cable car crosses the Vorotan Gorge at a height of up to 330 metres and is the shortest route to the medieval Tatev monastery complex.
In the photograph the cable car cabin hangs from the cables against green mountain slopes, with a metal pylon on the right and snow-capped mountains in the distance.
According to the source, the cable car was built in just 10 months and won the World Travel Awards as the world’s leading cable car in 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025. For 15 years it has been one of the main symbols of Armenian tourism.
