Four-Barrelled Pistol by Yeghishe Chiftalyaryan

This rare four-barrelled pistol was made by the renowned Armenian gunsmith Yeghishe Chiftalyaryan in the late 19th century in the town of Akhaltsikhe, in the historical region of Javakhk.

The pistol is shown from three sides. The barrels are joined in a single cluster, and the trigger is ring-shaped. The dark grip is decorated with silvery floral ornament, and the metal parts are engraved. All this shows that it is not only a weapon but also a work of art.

Armenian gunsmiths were known in the Ottoman and Caucasian lands for the reliability of their weapons and their innovative solutions.
