Pupils of an Armenian orphanage, Gurin, 1900
A colourised photograph of pupils of an Armenian orphanage, Gurin, 1900.
In a workshop are 6 boys and 1 man with a moustache. At the sides are 2 sewing machines with boys working at them; one of the boys standing at the table holds an iron, and the 2 small boys sitting in front hold pieces of cloth. On the wall hangs an Armenian sign in which the words “of the orphanage” and “workshop” can be read. The face of one of the boys is damaged in the photograph.
