In the upper photograph the grave is enclosed by an ornamental metal fence; behind it stands a stone structure with pillars, a triangular pediment and a white memorial plaque. Below is a close-up of the white stone tombstone. Carved on it are the Armenian words “Born mortal, he left an immortal memory of himself”, the Russian words “Professor Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky” and the years 1817–1900.
