Armenian girls in traditional costume, Tehran
Armenian girls in traditional costume. Iran (Persia), Tehran, late 19th century. Photographer: A. V. Sevryugin.
There are four girls in the photograph: three are standing and one is seated. They wear ornate caps, multi-strand necklaces of coins and beads, and metal belts. Checked and polka-dot aprons are tied over their dresses, and long garments of patterned fabric show beneath them. A striped rug covers the floor.
