Vessel for the Holy Myron, 1815
This eucharistic vessel contains Holy Myron. It was made in 1815 and is kept in the Etchmiadzin treasury.
The metal vessel has a round body and a long neck topped by a bird’s head with a crown-shaped ornament. Wings spread out on both sides of the body. In the centre of the body is a relief scene: a figure with a bishop’s mitre and staff holds a vessel above the head of a kneeling figure; behind is a group of people, and above are a dove and clouds. The scene is framed by a ray-shaped ornament.
