Memorial to the heroes of Operation Nemesis in Yerevan

This memorial in Yerevan is dedicated to the heroes who organised and carried out Operation Nemesis in 1919. The story of Nemesis is a story of the will of the Armenian people and of the restoration of justice.

The dark stone memorial is made of vertical slabs with a cross-shaped opening between them. Names are carved on the slabs: Soghomon Tehlirian, Aram Yerkanian, Arshavir Shirakian, Petros Ter-Poghosian, Artashes Gevorgyan, Misak Torlakian, Stepan Tsaghikian, Hakob Melkumov, Yervand Fundukian, Armen Garo, Grigor Merjanov, Avetik Isahakyan, Arshak Yezdanian, Ara Sargsyan, Hrach Papazian and Shahan Natali. The lower slab bears the inscription “To the heroes of national retribution” and the years 1919–1922.
