Bird figurine from Eastern Armenia
Archaeologists discovered a small bird figurine on the territory of Eastern Armenia. The bird is perched on a rod that divides at the bottom into two curved arms ending in small round knobs. The figurine is dark in colour, with lighter, yellowish areas on the beak, head and tail.
Studies have shown that it is made of an exceptionally strong material previously unknown to science, which does not yield to modern methods of working. The origin of the figurine and the secret of how it was made remain the subject of scholarly debate to this day.
The piece is kept in the National History Museum of Armenia.
