Armenian wedding in Kharberd, 1892
The photograph shows an Armenian wedding in the town of Kharberd in 1892, in the Zulumian family. Relatives and members of the community have gathered in a narrow street near an arched entrance. At the centre is the bride in a white dress and veil. Most of the men wear fezzes, and the women white headscarves. People have also gathered above, on a wooden balcony and on the balcony of a neighbouring house.
The photograph is kept at the Armenian Genocide Museum at Tsitsernakaberd as a testimony to family memory and to a lost world.
