Portrait of Anna Abamelik-Lazareva
Anna Abamelik-Lazareva (1824–1889) was a Russian-Armenian translator, lady-in-waiting at the imperial court, a prominent figure of high society and a public figure. She was considered one of the most beautiful women in Russia of her time.
The portrait shows a young woman with black hair gathered on top of her head and held with a hairpin. She wears long earrings and a gold-coloured necklace, and an off-the-shoulder pale pink dress, with a blue ribbon bow on her shoulder and a belt with an ornate buckle.
