Urartian winged deity

Urartian winged deity: a bronze sculpture from Toprakkale, kept in the Hermitage.

The sculpture has the body of a four-legged animal with clawed feet, large feathered wings, and a human torso and head with a tall headdress. The face is light in colour and stands out against the dark bronze. Detailed ornament is visible on the headdress, chest and wings.
