Courtyard of the Shustov wine and brandy factory, Yerevan
The courtyard of the Yerevan wine and brandy factory (formerly the “Shustov Wine and Brandy Factory”) in the early 20th century.
In the photograph workers use horses and carts to transport and load wooden barrels filled with the factory’s products. The courtyard is full of barrels, and in the background stands a stone building with arched openings and chimneys on the roof.
The factory was founded in 1887 by the entrepreneur Nerses Tairyan and was later acquired by the Russian company “Shustov and Sons”.
